Frequently Asked Questions

Are you currently accepting new clients?

Yes, I am currently accepting new clients.

What are your session fees?

My session fee is $170 per 50 minute session for individuals and $210 per 50 minute session for couples.

*For sliding scale pricing, please contact me

How does sliding scale pricing work?

A sliding scale is when a therapist will offer you a rate that is a reduction from their standard hourly charge. This hourly rate is based on your financial situation, and makes sessions accessible to anyone who doesn’t have insurance but still would like to explore treatment.

If you begin sessions at the standard session fee, and there is a change in your annual income, we can talk about a plan for reducing your rate for a set number of sessions.

There are a limited number of sliding scale spots available in my practice.

What is your cancellation policy?

You may cancel within 24 hours before the scheduled session. The full session fee will be required to be paid in the event that:

  • You cancel or reschedule with less than 24 hours notice

  • You are later than 30 minutes to the session

  • You miss the session entirely

Do you accept referrals?

Yes, I do.

If you believe that someone you know could benefit from my services, and there is no conflict of interest, I am happy to take referrals.

If you are not sure whether this would be a conflict of interest or not, please reach out to me and we can talk about this together.

Do you require a credit card on file?

Yes, I do require a credit or debit card on file, however I do not store your sensitive credit/debit card information in my office. Jane App (the booking and billing service I use) only uses PCI-compliant credit card processors to store sensitive credit card data, reducing credit card processing security risks for my clients.

Can I use insurance or health benefits?

Yes, you may submit the receipt from each appointment to be reimbursed through your extended health benefits or student benefits. While OHIP does not cover my services, most insurance plans can cover much of the fees for therapy. Sliding scale options may be provided for a select amount of time slots to support your ability to access services. Please ask me for support if you are having trouble submitting a claim. Your insurance plan would cover these services if it includes Social Worker.

Are your services confidential?

All of our sessions will be fully confidential, unless I have written permission from you to share information. The only exceptions to confidentiality are:

  • If I have reason to believe you are in immediate risk to harm yourself or someone else

  • If a child under 16 years old or someone in a Long Term Care Home is at risk of abuse or neglect

  • If you report sexual abuse by a Regulated Health Care Professional

  • If your file or therapist is subpoenaed by court

Can I do virtual and in-person therapy?

Yes, I provide both in-person and virtual therapy. We can also do a mix of both if this works better for your schedule.
